Gloria Elaine Peters

BAPCHULE - Gloria Elaine Peters, 56, of Bapchule died on March 8, 2019.

Ms. Peters was born on Jan. 20, 1963, in Sacaton and was a daughter of Barney Peters Sr. and Antoinette C. Juan. She loved being around her family and was very nurturing, comforting and selfless and made sure she put others before herself. She was very spiritual, full of joy and very independent.

She had a special laugh that would make others laugh with her even if they didn't know what she was laughing about. She didn't let being blind stop her from living her full, normal life and overcoming every obstacle that came her way.

Survivors include a son and daughter, Edwin Marrietta Jr. and Katrina Marrietta; a sister, Marjorie Peters; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Andrew P. Marrietta; a brother, Barney Peters Jr.; and a grandson, Edwin Marrietta II.

Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, at the District 5 Multipurpose Building in Casa Blanca. Funeral Mass celebrated at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 18, at St. Peter Catholic Church by the Rev. Antony Tinker. Burial in Sacate Cemetery.
