SACATON - Gloria Johnson Allison, 74, of Sacaton died peacefully on Aug. 4, 2016.
Ms. Allison was born on May 7, 1942, in Sacaton to Vernon Enos and Delma Cook. She was known as a loving, beautiful woman who cared for all she came in contact with. This was obvious as she worked as a teaching assistant for the Sacaton Elementary School District teaching the Pima language and the profession she chose, as a nurse.
She enjoyed being a part of Ira H. Hayes American Legion Auxiliary, basket weaving, listening to her music and spending time with family.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Allison of Sacaton; a daughter, Yvonne Davis of Sacaton; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Virgil Allison.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 3 Service Center, with rosary recited at 5. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Mission in Sacaton by the Rev. Ed Mullins. Burial will be in Sacaton East Cemetery.
