Gloria June "Inky" Schurz

SACATON - Gloria June "Inky" Schurz, 54, died on Dec. 30, 2015, at Caring House.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 3 Service Center. The funeral will be at 7 a.m. Saturday at First Pima Baptist Church, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating. Burial will be in West Sacaton Cemetery.

Ms. Schurz was born on Oct. 9, 1961, in Sacaton. A homemaker, she was always in a good mood, happy to see others and always doing something. Cleaning or cooking, she liked to stay busy. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her granddaughter.

She liked to take walks and exercise and was strong spirited. She loved listening to music, watching movies and the TV show "Martin." She lived to be happy, laughing and joking. She was always watching over her kids.

Survivors include two daughters, Cherie Mack and Rose Marrufo of Sacaton; two sons, Talon and Strom Marrufo of Sacaton; two sisters, Emaline Quimayousie and Jeanell Justin of Sacaton; a brother, Robert Schurz of Sacaton; and a granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron E. Schurz and Blanche E. Jackson; a sister, Beverly Schurz; and two brothers, Bruce Schurz and Hershell Jackson.
