Ms. Notah was born on Aug. 31, 1946, in Sacaton, was a daughter of Lloyd Notah Sr. and Louise T. Osife Notah, and spent her early years in Sheep Springs, New Mexico, until her parents moved to Arizona. She attended Stewart Indian High School in Nevada and moved to Los Angeles soon after graduation. There she attended nursing school and raised a family. She worked at Los Angeles County Hospital for a number of years. She loved California and enjoyed going to the beach and visiting Chinatown for a good meal.
Gloria was a beautiful lady, very smart and opinionated. She loved a good debate, all in fun. She was a gifted artist, specializing in charcoal and self-portraits. She loved the 1950s era, and her hairstyles proved it. She had a love for oldies and said they brought back memories. She later moved to Arizona and was a teacher for Head Start. She loved working with children and also worked for the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs before retirement. She loved her pets, Doris, and Maria. She missed her parents, told stories of her early years, and loved her sons dearly.
She is survived by a son, Ché Notah; three siblings, Rebecca Rowe, Sandi Notah and Tina Notah-Enas; and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Donovan Notah Duran and siblings Lloyd Notah Jr., William Notah Sr., Richard and James Notah, her nephew William Notah Jr., and her niece, Anissa Notah.
