Gloria Wilson

SACATON - Gloria Ann Wilson, 70, of Sacaton died on Dec. 17, 2017.

Mrs. Wilson was born on Jan. 5, 1947, in Sacaton to Erving and Bessie (Lewis) Johns. She later had a stepfather, Amos Whittaker. She was a lifelong resident of Sacaton and had worked for Gila River Head Start as a cook for many years.

She was a woman of God. She was the first lady of Warriors for Christ Church (mother of the church). She loved spending time with family, especially her grandson. She also loved crossword puzzles. She had a caring heart and loved everyone, but most of all she loved God.

She is survived by three adult children, Dorinda Wilson of Blackwater, Cisco Wilson and Isidro Rico of Casa Blanca, and 35 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, and a daughter, Valerie Wilson.

Visitation beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the District 5 Multipurpose Building in Casa Blanca, with wake following. Funeral at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Warriors for Christ Center in Casa Blanca. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery.
