Gordon Peter Molsen, 90, of Casa Grande died Nov. 23, 2007 at RTA Hospice House.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Ballew officiating.
Mr. Molsen was born Dec. 8, 1916 in Chicago and was a son of Peter and Ruby Molsen. He spent most of his life there. He finished high school in 1934, during the Great Depression. He then went to night school and business college, where he studied typing and shorthand and became a stenographer. He joined the Navy in 1942, during World War II, and was stationed in New York as a recruit trainer. He went overseas to the Philippines in 1943 and spent time at Peleliu Island until he was discharged in 1945. He worked for a publishing company for about five years and later became a sales manager for a machine tool manufacturer. In 1954 he went into international publishing and spent 43 years in the field. His last position was as a publisher of Christian materials. He retired in 1986.
He met his future wife of 67 years, Violet "Vi," at church. They traveled to many places in their motor home from 1993 to 1999, passing through Casa Grande several times before settling in Fairways in 1999. He loved music and also enjoyed fishing and golf. He skied before the last few years.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Dian V. Molsen of Casa Grande and Debbie J. Ball of San Diego; a son, Brad G. Molsen of Seattle; a brother, Eric Molsen of Arizona City; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
