Gwendolyn M. Justin-James of Upper Santan died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, in Statonic Village. She was 28.
She was born March 14, 1986, in Phoenix. Gwendolyn was married to William Justin. She attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Sacaton. Gwendolyn enjoyed traditional dancing, listening to music, dancing, socializing and laughing. But, most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a hard worker who was willing to step in and help. She worked as a prep cook and cashier at KFC.
Gwendolyn is survived by her husband of Upper Santan; a daughter, Anaya Justin of Upper Santan; a son, Caleb Justin of Upper Santan; two brothers, Jerome James of Gilbert and Brent James of Queen Creek; a sister, Ashley Johns of Upper Santan; her father, Alvin James of Queen Creek; her mother, Odelia Jose of Upper Santan; her stepmother, Leah James of Queen Creek; and a stepsister, Lori Nuvayestewa of Queen Creek. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Burial follows in the Sacaton Flats Cemetery in Sacaton. Visitation is from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at the District 4 Service Center. A rosary is at 5 p.m. Friday, also at the service center.
