Harlan Lee Osife

SACATON - Harlan Lee Osife Jr., 37, died on Feb. 1, 2015, at home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 3 Service Center, with rosary recited at 6. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Mission in Sacaton by Monsignor Ed Meulemans. Burial will be in Snaketown Cemetery, Goodyear Village.

Mr. Osife was born on Feb. 28, 1977, in Phoenix. He was a sawer in manufacturing and a San Antonio Spurs fan. He enjoyed listening to music, writing poems and songs, and cooking. He took care of his brothers and sisters when they were young, loved his children, had a good spirit and enjoyed traditional ways of native culture.

Survivors include three daughters, Kierra and Dante Osife of Blackwater and Bailey Osife of Sacaton; three sons, Lone Arrow, Shy and Harlan Osife III, all of Sacaton; his father, Harlan Osife Sr. of Chandler; four sisters, Dierdray Osife, Sayla and Darling Sabori, all of Sacaton, and Monique Osife of Chandler; four brothers, Andre and Royal Sabori of Sacaton, Watterson and Dustin Osife of Chandler; and his grandmother Arlene Schurz of Sacaton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Leah Eldridge, and grandparents, Guy Schurz, Dana Osife Sr. and Blanche White.
