Harold Johnston

Harold Johnston, 84, died on Aug. 13, 2012, at home, with his wife by his side.
The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sonland Lutheran Church.
Mr. Johnston was born on Aug. 21, 1927, in Park Falls, Wis., to Floyd and Florence Johnston. He served in the Navy and then became a civil engineer. He was a district manager for American Bridge Company and worked on many high-rise buildings, large bridges and underground Minuteman Missile silos. He married Donna Peterson in 1949 in Watersmeet, Mich. They traveled the world and enjoyed many cruises together. He was a member of Sonland Lutheran Church in Casa Grande.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim Johnston of Las Vegas, Nev., and Ray Johnston of Chandler; a daughter, Pat Jones of Everett, Wash.; a brother, Cliff Johnston of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sonland Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Valley.
