Helen "Andy" Erdmann

Helen "Andy" Erdmann, 97 passed away April 27, 2020 peacefully in her sleep with her daughter by her side.
Helen was born in Kingman, Arizona on August 13, 1922 to J. Max and Hazel Anderson. She attended ASU where she met the love of her life William Erdmann. They married February 7, 1947 and moved to Casa Grande, Arizona.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents J. Max and Hazel Anderson, husband William Erdmann, daughter Sandra Wakefield, son Robert Erdmann, Grandson Manuel Ochoa, Son in law William Wakefield and Ignacio Ochoa.
Helen is survived by her brother, John Anderson, her daughter Sally Ochoa, seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, three nieces and nephews.
One special memory that Helen had was staying on the beach in San Diego and baking cookies for the lifeguards. One year she was honored by the Pacific Beach life guards thanking her for her watchful eye and assisting them identify problem areas and rip tides for the safety of the swimmers.
They gave her a pair of binoculars like they use and a beautiful plaque that she was very proud of.
Helen was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church and she served as a deacon for several years. She was an advisor for the Rainbow Girls and loved mentoring the young ladies.
A memorial will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so. In Lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of the Valley in memory of Helen would be appreciated.
