COOLIDGE - Helen Ruth Cherry, 66, of Coolidge died on Dec. 2, 2013, in Florence.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Community Presbyterian Church in Coolidge. The funeral will follow at 11, with the Rev. Richard Wright Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Heritage Valley Memorial Park.
Mrs. Cherry was born on April 23, 1947, in Longview, Texas. She was a retail cashier and worked for 32 years at Safeway in Coolidge before retirement. Known by most people in Coolidge, she always saw the best in folks and was an encourager and believer in the Lord.
She liked to joke around, had a good sense of humor and was forthright and direct. She had many godchildren. She loved animals, especially her bird, and collected porcelain dolls.
Survivors include four daughters, Glenzi and Wanda Cherry of Coolidge, Evelyn Wright of Phoenix and Tammy Douglas of Casa Grande; two sons, Henry Cherry Jr. of Coolidge and John Cherry of Fort Collins, Colo.; a sister, Lorine Davis of Coolidge; 32 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a host of godchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cherry Sr.; a son, Danny Cherry; a daughter, Kinista Harris; three brothers, Richard Wright Sr., John and Curly Wright; and a sister, Willie Mays.
