CASA GRANDE - Helen Dixon, 88, formerly of Casa Grande, died on Oct. 27, 2019, in Parkton, North Carolina.
Ms. Dixon was a daughter of Elmer and Maude Burrell and lived in Casa Grande off and on for 60-plus years. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Women’s Auxiliary of the Moose. She attended church in Casa Grande and loved to cook food for the congregation. She was known for her beans.
She loved to dance and sing and could often be seen as the center of the party entertaining people. She loved karaoke and enjoyed singing country music. She owned businesses in Arizona and California over the years and enjoyed working with people. She would have been 89 on Nov. 14.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond Burrell, Cecil Burrell, Bob Burrell, Bill Burrell and Vernon Burrell; two sisters, Clara McCoy and Mildred Zimmerman; and two grandchildren, Phillip Montalvo and Lori Stokes. She is survived by her five adult children, Alice Montalvo, Kathryn Stokes, Carolyn Hegvett, William Dixon and Lissa Britt; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, followed by a chapel service at 2:30, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery.
