Herbert Narcia

BLACKWATER — Herbert Narcia, 88, of Blackwater died on June 29, 2010.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at the District 1 Service Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 5 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Mission. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
Mr. Narcia was born on Sept. 23, 1921, in Komatke. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and worked as a well pump mechanic. He was known for his willingness to help people and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He lived life with a great sense of humor. He was an organist for the church choir and sang traditional Akimel O’odham songs. He enjoyed gardening and was a very hard worker. He also was an avid sports fan and especially of the Arizona State Sun Devils, Diamondbacks and wrestling.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Narcia of Sacaton and Christopher Narcia of Blackwater; two daughters, Sheri Cassa of Sacaton and Marcella Narcia of Blackwater; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary.
