Hilde A. Leiffer

Hilde A. Leiffer, 79, of Maricopa died Oct. 27, 2008 at RTA Hospice House.


A private service will be held later.

Ms. Leiffer was born in Germany and was a daughter of Alma and Walter Kurrels. She moved to the United States 61 years ago at age 18. She was a nursing assistant and enjoyed gardening, walking and cooking. She enjoyed her dog, Ginger, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially loved living with her granddaughter Jennifer Lavoie during the last days of her life.

Survivors include five sons, Walter, Lonnie, Jack and Virgil Leiffer, all of California, and Donald Carey of Arizona; a daughter, Glenda McVay of Arizona; a sister, Inga; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey Simms, and a son, Rodger Leiffer.
