AK-CHIN - Hiram "Tweety" Carlyle, 48, of the Ak-Chin Indian Community died Jan. 4, 2008 at home.
The wake service will begin at 6 p.m. today at 42275 W. Peters & Nall Road. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission at 9 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Ed Meulemans.
Mr. Carlyle was born on Aug. 29, 1959 in Sacaton. He formerly was a firefighter/EMT for the Ak-Chin Fire Department. He enjoyed an array of sports both as a player and spectator. A 1977 graduate of Maricopa High School, he played a vital role on the Maricopa High School Rams baseball teams that captured Class C state titles in 1975 and 1976. He was lovingly known as "Uncle" by his many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include a daughter, Leanne Peters; three sisters, Delia M. Carlyle, Delores Rodriguez and Colleen Padilla; and a stepsister, Bernadette White, all of Ak-Chin. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Annalee Peters; his parents, Richard D. and Esther (Thomas) Carlyle; and a stepsister, Brenda White.
