Hortencia O. Saldana

Hortencia O. Saldaña, 87, of Maricopa died on Aug. 15, 2022, at home.

Mrs. Saldaña was born on Feb. 12, 1935, in San Juan, Texas, and was a daughter of Pablo and Otilia Olivarez. She enjoyed her faith, cooking, watching over her grandchildren and sewing. She had many close friends and was a pillar of the community.

Survivors include four daughters and sons, Ernesto, Odilia and Estevan Saldaña, all of Maricopa, and Ofilia Atencio of Blanca, Colorado; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose, and two siblings, Genaro Olivarez and Olivia Gomez.

Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. Funeral Mass celebrated at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
