CASA GRANDE - Howard Richard Smith, 75, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 28, 2017, in Casa Grande.

Mr. Smith was born on Feb. 21, 1941, in Greenfield, Iowa, to Leroy and Doris (Adrian) Smith. Called Smitty by many friends, he loved his son, daughter and grandson very much. He also loved fast cars.

Survivors include his partner, Virginia Sherk; a daughter, Jodi Boyd of Maricopa; a son, Craig Smith of Mesa; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo, and a sister, Rosalie Hathaway.
