Hugh Miron Renard

CASA GRANDE - Hugh Myron Renard, 95, of Casa Grande, a World War II bomber pilot, died peacefully on Oct. 30, 2016, at The Garnet of Casa Grande.

Mr. Renard was born on July 9, 1921, in Arlington, Nebraska, to Edward and Ruth Renard and graduated from Arlington High School and the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree. On May 28, 1944, he married the love of his life, Lew E. Henderson, in Beatrice, Nebraska. They were married for 68 years. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps and was a pilot of the B-25 bomber. He was stationed in India and China and was discharged as a first lieutenant.

He served five years as a county agricultural agent in Pierce and Wahoo, Nebraska. He was a beef herdsman and managed a farm at Boys Town near Omaha. He purchased a farm in 1960 and raised registered Angus cattle and farmed in the Blair, Nebraska, area. He enjoyed the great American outdoors and all it offered. He loved to ride his all-terrain vehicle in the mountains of Greer, where the couple had a summer home. He and his wife loved to travel and visited much of the United States, the Caribbean and Europe. They lived in Pierce, Wahoo, Omaha, Nashville and Blair, Nebraska, and in Tucson and Casa Grande.

He is survived by three sons, Hugh Renard II of Casa Grande, Jerome Renard of Curtis, Nebraska, and Robin Renard of Lincoln, Nebraska; a brother, Keith Renard of Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers, Mel, Gene and Dick Renard; and a sister, Peggy Jones.

The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Weber officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Renard’s name to the American Cancer Society.
