Inez Mae Satala

SACATON - Inez Mae Satala, 62, died May 18, 2007 at home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 1 Service Center. The funeral there will be at 7 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. John Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in North Blackwater Cemetery.

Mrs. Satala was born Aug. 23, 1944 in Sacaton. She was a self-employed cosmetologist and a driver for Sacaton Public Schools and VHM. She was an outreach technician for a diabetes prevention program and an outreach specialist for Maricopa-Queen Creek Development Corp. She was a member of the Gila River Cancer Support Group.

Survivors include six daughters, Nora H. Miranda of Phoenix, Cynthia Satala of Sacaton, Shelley M. Reams of Chandler, Shawna Satala of Goodyear, Shannon Satala of Gila Butte and Crystal Satala of Sacaton; a stepdaughter, Yvonne Pedro of Salt River; two stepsons, Travis and Alan Pedro of Salt River; two sisters, Imogene Moreno of Blackwater and Neomi Howard of Santan; three brothers, Levi Emerson Jr. of Sacaton, Gordon Emerson of Ahwatukee and the Rev. John Jacobs of Blackwater; 31 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M.; a granddaughter, Beth Satala Kyyitan; two brothers, Everett and Dean Emerson; and a sister, Geraldine Hayes.
