Isabel U. Salazar, 77, of Eloy died on Dec. 25, 2010, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Templo La Hermosa. The funeral there will be at 9 a.m. Monday.
Mr. Salazar, also known as “Pa Chabelo” by his loved ones, was born on Nov. 4, 1933, in Mexico and was a son of Carlos Salazar and Maria Urzua. He was a pastor for many years at Templo La Hermosa in Eloy. He was greatly appreciated and loved by his church members and inspired them to follow the word of God. He spent most of his time reading the Bible, attending church and admiring his family. He also loved to travel to different places such as Rocky Point, California and Texas for conventional services. He enjoyed playing the guitar and drinking a hot cup of coffee.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Amelia; two sons, Joel and Jose L. Salazar of Eloy; four daughters, Elsa Salazar, Olga Villarreal, Oralia Banda and Olivia Salazar, all of Eloy; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
