CASA GRANDE - Isidro Valdez, 95, of Casa Grande died on May 29, 2017, at home.
Mr. Valdez was born on May 15, 1922, in Mumford, Texas, to Jesus and Magdalena (Cerecerro) Valdez. He served in the military and later loved raising animals, including cattle, pigs and sheep, to sell or slaughter for his family's consumption. He treasured the earth and loved seeing the results of his planting, including citrus, pecans and fig trees. He loved being outside.
He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he and his wife would take them to Hawley Lake to spend summers. He was always telling the grandchildren silly stories. He would try to fish, but the grand children would always want to be with him, and not much fishing would get done.
Survivors include four daughters and sons, Olivia Valdez, Glenn Delgado, Freddie Wise and Magdalena Valdez Key; his companion, Rosa; a sister, Juanita Valdez; a brother, Lupe Valdez; Brother in law, Leonard Delgado: Sister in law, Terry Wise: Grandchildren: Jonette Norton, Michele Delgado Perkins, Jenelle Parish, Valerie Wise & Casey Porras, Christopher Delgado, Byron & Marissa Kline; Great Grandchildren: Nathan McCaslin, Rowan Norton, Kevin, Jack, Carley, and Adam Gillbride. Graveside service at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 10, in Eloy Memorial Park, with military honors and the Rev. Alonzo Garcia officiating.
