Iva Lee Largo, 72, of Sacaton, peacefully passed away on May 17, 2024 She was born on April 15, 1952, in Rehoboth New Mexico to Emma Smith. Throughout her life, Iva found joy in barrel racing and excelled as a rodeo secretary. Her diverse career included roles as a former detention officer for juveniles, a dedicated teacher, a skilled cook. She also worked as a Housing Accounts Receivable Supervisor, Housing Services Specialist and a Housing Counselor for the Gila River Indian Community. Irrespective of the position she held, Iva approached her work with unwavering pride and dedication.
In her leisure time, Iva indulged in various activities such as dining out, visiting casinos, exploring swap meets, and engaging in shopping excursions. She had a passion for sewing, particularly creating Pendleton jackets, and curated an extensive collection of Indian jewelry. Above all else, she cherished moments spent with her beloved family.
Iva is survived by her loving husband Keith McDonald, her daughter Trina Banda, her sons Yazzie Marrietta and Mario Evans, along with 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wallace E. and Emma W. Smith, her sons Mark Russell, Eric Evans, and Adam Evans, one grandson and one granddaughter. Additionally, she is mourned by her brother Lawrence Largo Sr.
