Ivan Jones

BLACKWATER — Ivan Ray Jones, 66, of Blackwater died on Dec. 7, 2012.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Blackwater Veterans Memorial Center. The funeral will be at 7 a.m. Saturday at Blackwater Presbyterian Church, with Evangelist Randall Ruiz officiating. Burial will be in North Blackwater Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born on May 26, 1946, in Blackwater and was a son of Luther and Mamie Jones. He was a farmworker and enjoyed working with wood and carving. He most recently was making crosses. He always was willing to lend a helping hand and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed time with his companion of 21 years and also liked dogs and cats.
Survivors include his companion, Gloria Eschief; a daughter, Monica Nish of Sacaton Flats; a son, John Nish of Sacaton; two sisters, Laverna Jones and Donna M. Jones of Blackwater; a brother, Wesley Jones of Blackwater; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Jones.
