SACATON - James Darwin Mills Sr., 56, died on Jan. 4, 2019.
Mr. Mills was born and raised in Sacaton. He was a sawyer at Pimalco/Arconic for more than 25 years. He enjoyed watching football and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
He had two passions in life: his children and his grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and every conversation he had was filled with jokes and laughter. He was a simple and much-loved man.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Sharon; seven adult children, Daniel and Rebecca Williams of Casa Grande, Watauna Velarde of Komatke, Alfonso Velarde of Casa Grande, James D. Mills Jr. of Casa Blanca, Dakota James Mills of Guadalupe and Dallas James Mills of Sacaton; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Gloria Mills, and a grandson, James Douglas Mills.
Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, at the District 3 Service Center. Graveside service early Friday, Jan. 11, in Sacaton East Cemetery, with Elder Art Anton officiating.
