FLORENCE - James Dunlop, 85, of Florence died on April 5, 2015.
Mr. Dunlop was born on March 2, 1930, in Scotland. He served in the British military before immigrating to the United States, then served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He also was a power production instructor and electrical engineer.
He was Roman Catholic and was involved in booster clubs for many fine hockey clubs in Alaska. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Independent Order of Foresters.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Dunlop-Campbell of Florence and Elizabeth Risler of Virginia; three sons, James E. and Donald M. Dunlop of Anchorage and Damon Dunlop of San Tan Valley; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth S. Young-Dunlop.
No service is planned.
