COOLIDGE — James M. Hall, 94, of San Jose, Calif., died on Feb. 16, 2012, in San Jose.
The graveside service was at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Valley Memorial Park in Coolidge.
Mr. Hall was born on Jan. 24, 1918, in Arizona and was a son of Henry C. and Nona Hall. He served with the famed Bushmasters Arizona National Guard unit in the Philippines during World War II and qualified as a sharpshooter. He competed on the rodeo circuit in his earlier years. He was a head gardener for the city of San Jose and worked on the organization and planting of the well-known Rose Garden there. He was involved with Calvary Community Church in San Jose.
Survivors include three daughters, Connie Montalbano-Hill of Mountain View, Calif., Naomi Sanders of Santa Clara, Calif., and Mary Culver of Sonora, Calif.; a brother, Clay Hall of Prescott; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Maudie May, in 1999; a brother, Chet Hall; and three sisters, Dorothy Rymer, Verda Gaddis and Ester White.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
