James Mark “Jimmy” Sorensen Jr., 24, of Casa Grande died on July 5, 2010, at home.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The celebration of life will follow at 3. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Sorensen was born on Dec. 5, 1985, in Phoenix. He grew up in Casa Grande and graduated from Casa Grande Union High School with honors in 2004. He was studying computer programming at Central Arizona College and had been on the Dean’s List for three consecutive semesters.
Music, computers and his family were his life. He was a talented musician who mastered drums and piano and also played guitar. He was in a local band, Rekoil, for several years with Austin Lawrence, who now is performing as A-Law. They performed locally and produced a CD. He was a good friend to all who knew his smile and the way he made people laugh and feel better.
Survivors include his parents, Jim and Tami Sorensen of Casa Grande; two sisters, Chelsi and Paislee Sorensen of Casa Grande; and a grandfather, Warren E. Truman of Casa Grande. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mikie Sorensen, and grandparents, Eva Truman, Robert and Lily Sorensen.
