James McBride Jr., 80, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019. Preceded in death by his parents James Sr. and Rosie McBride; son David McBride; sisters Pearline and Carol. Survived by his loving wife Davetta McBride; children Maria Nabors, of Racine WI, Felicia Hooks of Bloomington CA, Katherine Haeley, Jan Kuykendall both of Casa Grande, foster daughters Paulette Davis of Racine, WI and Laurie Standreidig of Casa Grande. Also survived by many other adopted children over the years. Godchild, Ann Billings of Marina Valley, CA. Brother of Zelmon McBride of Las Vegas, NV, Daniel Davis of Zion, WI, Beverly Johnson, Marilyn Davis and Clarisa Davis all of Waukegan, IL and Michael McBride of South Carolina and host of other relatives and friends. Mr. McBride retired a Lt. Col. in the United States Air Force after proudly serving for 30 years. During his Air Force career, he has been stationed all around the world and during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1993. He was also Communications officer in as well as Navigational Aids.
Mr. McBride was very active in the Casa Grande community with memberships in the Elks Lodge 1927, American Legion Post 8, Casa Grande Lions Club, Casa Grande Masonic Order, a volunteer for the Casa Grande Police Department Citizens On Patrol (COP) and the Silent Witness program. He was President of the Casa Grande Desert Sounds Barbershop Chorus and a member of NRA Association.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation 10:00 AM Friday, July 29 followed by a Chapel Service at 11:00 AM at the J. Warren Funeral Gardens Chapel, 525 N. Peart Rd., Casa Grande.
Interment Services will be held in Racine, WI. on August 2, 2019 at the National Cemetery in Union Grove, WI after a short service in the Draeger Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 4567 Green bay Road in Racine, WI.
