James Peter "Jim" Boris

September 15, 1935 — April 3, 2016

CASA GRANDE - James Peter "Jim" Boris, 80, of Casa Grande died on April 3, 2016.

Mr. Boris was born on Sept. 15, 1935, to Delores and Peter Boris in Athens, Wisconsin, the eldest of 13 children. He was raised on the family dairy farm until his late teens, when he started a career operating heavy equipment for his uncle’s construction company. His love for polka dancing led him to the love of his life, Joyce Ann Maciejewski. They were married on Oct. 4, 1958, in Mosinee, Wisconsin. They moved to California in 1960 and had five children.

In 1979, he formed his own company, Arizona Slag Processing, which operated in Arizona and Oregon for 30 years. He enjoyed polka festivals, gardening, family reunions and playing cards with his family and never met a person he couldn’t befriend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and created cherished memories for all.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Debra and Darla; three sons, Donald, Darryl and David; five brothers, Ervin, Raymond, Peter, Michael and Richard; six sisters, Beverly Kremsrieter, Karen Sparke, Charlene Janke, Maedelle Erickson, Linda Leitzke and Kathlene Lehman; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight, and two infant grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held in Washington state during the summer, with details posted on Facebook.

J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
