James "Jim" Edward Piet

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Edward Piet, a cherished husband, father, uncle, and brother, a man who brought so much laughter, love, and joy into the lives of all who knew him. James was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 9, 1962, and passed away in Gilbert, Arizona on December 11, 2024, at age 62. James's journey through life was marked by his wavering dedication to family and his passionate spirit for life.

From an early age, James had an extraordinary gift for making people laugh. Whether through his endless repertoire of jokes or his quick wit, he had a way of brightening every room he entered. His laughter was contagious, and his joy for life was evident in everything he did.

A hardworking man, James took immense pride in his career and always made his job a top priority. He approached his work with the same passion and determination that defined his entire life. Yet, no matter how demanding his job was, his family remained his greatest source of happiness and fulfillment.

James adored his family and cherished every moment spent with them. He shared an especially deep love for his beautiful wife, Hilda, whose partnership brought him endless joy and strength. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Music and movies were two of James's greatest passions. He had a remarkable ear for music and loved sharing his knowledge with his children, often challenging them to guess the artist and song title playing on the radio. He also loved attending concerts, where he could experience the magic of live music and create unforgettable memories. Movie nights with the family were a treasured tradition, especially during the holidays, filled with popcorn and chips, laughter, and the warmth of being together. Game nights were another beloved passion; whether it was a competitive round of cards or a lighthearted board game, James believed in the power of laughter and connection that such times provided.

A devoted Chicago sports fan, James especially loved hockey and rooted fiercely for his favorite teams. Whether cheering from the stands or the comfort of his living room, his enthusiasm was unmatched, and his passion brought friends and family together to celebrate the thrill of the game.

Raising his children was one of the greatest joys of James's life. He was a constant source of love, guidance, and laughter, creating a childhood filled with unforgettable moments. He taught his children the importance of hard work, kindness, and the value of family.

James is survived by his loving wife, Hilda Luna, and their wonderful children: Jessica, Jennifer, Frederick, Ashley, Cindy, and Emanuel. Also left to honor his memory are his siblings, Pete, Sally, Bill, Amy and Nancy. Each person carries a piece of his spirit with them, grateful for the time they shared and the love he so freely gave. He now joins his brother Dan with the heavenly father; who the family carries a part of both of them very close to their hearts.

A funeral service to celebrate James's life will be held on December 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at Casa Grande - Cole and Maud The Gardens Chapel, located at 525 N Peart Road, Casa Grande, AZ 85122. The family invites all those who knew James to attend and share in the joyful memories he has left behind.

Though he may no longer walk among us, James Edward Piet's legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
