ARIZONA CITY — James Boyd "Jim" Scott, 85, of Arizona City died on Nov. 13, 2011, at home.
Mr. Scott was born on Oct. 4, 1926, in Parker, S.D., and was a son of Floyd M. Scott and Grace L. Farr. He served in the Army and received the World War II Victory Medal. He was a heavy equipment operator for most of his life. He was devoted to his family and faithfully attended Heaven's View Baptist Church in Arizona City.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce D.; four sons and daughters, Dale Scott of Phoenix, Cynthia Romo of Phoenix, Marty Scott of Wittmann and Rebecca Maltby of Spokane, Wash.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Kirk, and three brothers.
Visitation will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Heaven's View Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 11, with Pastor Darrell Roe officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
