CASA GRANDE - Janet Lee Meyer, 80, of Casa Grande died on Aug. 16, 2017.
Mrs. Meyer was born on July 16, 1937, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Fern (Gladstone) Kreuger. She attended school in Lone Rock, Iowa, and graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1957. She married Melvin Meyer on April 26, 1958. She was a nurturing woman who had a kind heart. She took care of others in her profession as a registered nurse, but that carried over into all areas of her life.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and took pride in her association. Above all else, she was devoted to her family. She played piano in earlier times and more recently enjoyed suspenseful mystery books. She and Melvin moved to Casa Grande in 2006 and made a home in Casa Verde Estates. She was always eager to tackle a job and was a part of clubhouse events, a social butterfly and could make friends with anybody. She loved going to The Promenade at Casa Grande and Mi Amigo Ricardo, visiting with employees and community members for hours sometimes. She touched the lives of many.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, survivors include three sons, Bryan, David and Michael Meyer, and a brother, Kermit Kreuger.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in charge of arrangements.
