SACATON FLATS - Janice Marie Stewart-Cooper, 74, of Sacaton Flats died on May 31, 2015, at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
The wake will begin at 6 p.m. today at the Hashan Kehk Multipurpose Building. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Mission by the Rev. Gregory Rice. Burial will be in Upper Santan Cemetery.
Ms. Stewart-Cooper was born on May 5, 1941, in Sacaton Flats and was a daughter of Allen Stewart and Elizabeth R. Thomas. She was a health care lab technician and was Catholic. A member of the Hashan Kehk Elderly Group, she enjoyed bingo, bowling and listening to music.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle R. Osife of Hashan Kehk and Micheala A. Cooper of Sacaton; two sons, Alvin Cooper of Upper Santan and Derwin Cooper of Goodyear Village; two sisters, Margie Trevino of Blackwater and Arlene Gonzales of Hashan Kehk; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Errol and Wayne Stewart; a sister, Loretta Stewart; a son, Michael A. Cooper; and a grandson, Sylvester Osife Jr.
