Jason Marc Wood, aged 57, died on June 15, 2024, in Mesa. He was born on May 19, 1967, in Sells to Teresa Frances Lopez and Jose Mark Wood. 

Throughout his life, Jason dedicated over 20 years to Santa Rosa Boarding and Day School before retiring. He found joy in connecting with people by sharing traditional songs with the Kaij Mek Ne'edam kc Keihindam.  Also by sharing religious hymns with the SONS, which is a group made up of his cousins/brothers. 

Notably, Jason was one of the founding members of The Tohono O'odham Braves waila band, where he shared the beauty of waila music with others until his final days leaving behind a legacy of waila that will continue to resonate. 

Jason is survived by his wife of 32 years, Arlene Wood; their two daughters, Delaiah and Jaylene Wood; and his siblings Terence, (Roberta) and Andreana Wood. Jason also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and Godchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Cherylmarie Ramon, along with a grandson Ean Wood. 

An all-night wake service is scheduled for Saturday, June 22, 2024, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Santa Rosa Village. The mass will commence at 7 p.m., followed by burial on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 5 a.m. at Santa Rosa Southside Cemetery. 

The arrangements are entrusted to J. Warren Funeral Services.
