BLACKWATER - Jasper Harrison Marrietta, 95, of Blackwater died on Nov. 21, 2016.
Mr. Marrietta was born on Feb. 3, 1921, in Sacaton to Thomas and Carrie Marrietta. A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he was well known. He was an avid Arizona State football fan who also enjoyed watching NFL football on television. He was a family man who enjoyed dancing and making people laugh and warmed the hearts of many.
Survivors include six daughters and a son, Mary Marrietta Jasper and Alma Johns of Blackwater, Linda Whitman, Frank Marrietta, Joella Antone and Roxie Johnson, all of Sacaton, and Connie Blackwater-Hogg of Blackwater; 75 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmelita; three sons; two brothers; and a sister.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the District 1 Multipurpose Building. The funeral will be at 8 a.m. Monday at Blackwater Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in West Blackwater Cemetery.
