Jean-Guy Roy, 70, died peacefully in his sleep on March 20, 2007.
Mr. Roy was born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada, and was a son of Edmond and Aurore. He had an immense love of people and life. He was known as a true character and loved to tell stories, often embellished, and make people laugh. He considered himself a lucky man because he worked in a job he loved, as an operating engineer, which allowed him to travel and be a good provider for his family. He enjoyed nearly 12 years of retirement during which he and his wife toured in their RV and socialized with friends in park communities in Wisconsin and Arizona.
He was able to fix or build just about anything with his many tools. He was a lover of good food, fishing, playing pool, gardening and Chet Atkins music. He was devoted to his family.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Flora; two daughters, Jennifer and Juliette; and a sister, Hugette. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Laurier, Arthur, Laval, Henri and Rodolph; five sisters, Dolores, Marie-Paul, Ida, Yvette and Jeanne; and an honorary sister, Carole.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
