It is with deepest sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennie Bonilla-Briceno, who left us on June 8, 2023 in Maricopa, AZ.
Born on April 7, 1950 in San Jose, Costa Rica, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Bonilla Sr. and Mildred Ojeda. Jennie was a loving wife to Jorge Fernando Castro and a devoted mother to her daughter Angela Bonilla. She is survived by her sisters Ileana Martinez and Tuttie Bonilla and brothers Manuel Bonilla, Javier Bonilla and Edwin Bonilla Jr. Jennie is preceded in death by her siblings Alvaro Bonilla and Linda Bonilla. Jennie also had a special place in her heart for her grandson Conrad Machado whom she looked upon with pride. She was also a dedicated dog mom of three.
Jennie will forever be remembered for her enormous heart and beautiful soul. Jennie had a remarkable talent for arts and crafts - she made beautiful cards that always brought joy to those who received them. Many were blessed to enjoy her homemade spaghetti sauce that was just as delightful as her cooking.
Jennie had impeccable taste for home decor which culminated in creating the most elegant living spaces. She was an avid shopper who loved finding unique pieces to add to her home collection.
In addition to designing beautiful spaces, Jennie's love for dance - especially salsa dancing - left everyone in awe. Her husband Jorge has fond memories of how she would effortlessly make him look good whenever they took to the dancefloor.
Jennie Marie's sparkling personality drew many people towards her life despite battling chronic health issues that never affected her generosity or laughter.
Aida Conde and Marlelos Mendoza were treasured friends of hers who found great joy spending time with her shopping at antique markets.
Jennie Marie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her family and friends.
