MARICOPA - Jeralyn Dee "Jeri" Schoenthal, 69, of Maricopa died on May 8, 2014, at home.
The celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. May 31 at Risen Savior Church in Chandler, with Pastor Jim Pflueger officiating.
Mrs. Schoenthal was born on Oct. 12, 1944, in Peoria, Ill., the younger of two children of Wayne G. and Vangine (Sieks) Meredith. She attended Richwoods High School in Peoria and graduated in 1962. She married and had three daughters. She was a purchasing agent for Alcoa Inc. and retired after 25 years in 2004. She married the love of her life, Fredrick W. Schoenthal III, and welcomed stepsons Fredrick W. Schoenthal IV of Edwardsville, Ill., and Timothy J. Schoenthal of Muscatine, Iowa.
The couple moved to Arizona in 2005 from Bettendorf, Iowa, to enjoy retirement. Her hobbies included cruising, couples dinner group, playing mah jongg and cards, and Bible study. She was an accomplished gardener. Her husband died in 2011.
Survivors include three daughters, Melissa L. Jones of Gilbert, Melinda Denker of St. Charles, Mo., and Michelle Brownell of Union, Ky., and 13 grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jacquelyn Tucker.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
