Jere Willis Cook, 85, of Casa Grande,
Arizona, passed away peacefully at home
surrounded by loved ones on July 29, 2018.
He was born on March 30, 1933 in Linn,
Kansas, to John and Mildred (Rice) Cook.
Jere served in the Navy and then
moved to Arizona in the late 1950s. He
made furniture for a custom furniture company while completing
his degree at Arizona State College, what is now Arizona State
University. After that he began a life-long career in banking.
He was a prominent member of the Casa Grande Valley
area business community. He had a wide variety of interests
throughout his life that included boating, woodworking and all
things related to cowboy life.
Survivors include daughter, Kim (David) Higgins, of
Wickenburg; sons, Troy (Diane) Hubbard and Tim (Chris)
Hubbard, of Casa Grande. One of his greatest joys in life was
spending time with his grandchildren: Ashley, Ronnie, Greg,
Brian, Taylor, Chase, Hannah, and great-granddaughter,
Audrianna, because he was a cool grandpa.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Judy Cook;
sister, Theresa Durham; brother, John Cook; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at J. Warren Funeral Chapel in
Casa Grande, Saturday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m. Reception will
follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity or
cause of your choice.
