Jerry E. Burns, 77, of Casa Grande died on July 3, 2014, at home.
The celebration of life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with Darwin Chandler officiating.
Mr. Burns was born on Oct. 24, 1936, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. He served in the Army and was a heavy-equipment mechanic. He enjoyed raising and showing Quarter Horses and liked gardening and flying his airplanes. A hardworking man, he enjoyed welding, tinkering with anything mechanical, traveling, camping and most of all being with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra K. Pieschl and Angie R. Steele of Casa Grande; two sons, Lonnie "Wayne" Burns of Artesia, New Mexico, and Bruce G. Burns of Marana; a sister, Virgie Wingate of Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; two brothers; and a sister.
