CASA GRANDE - Jerry Thomas, 59, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 30, 2017, at home.
Mr. Thomas, sometimes known as "JT," was born on Feb. 23, 1958, in Petersburg, Texas, to Annie Mae (Wall) and Douglas L. Thomas Sr. He graduated from Plainview (Texas) High School in 1976 after playing football there. He worked for Excel in Plainview during his younger years. He later worked for the Arizona Department of Corrections in Florence and then Hexcel in Casa Grande.
His family, friends and church were important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with "Babe," his loving wife of 22 years, Nobie M. He was a man of many talents from detailing to working on computers. He also enjoyed DJ'ing, photography, styling, profiling and watching drag racing. In 1995 he joined Evangelist Temple Church of God in Christ and gave his life to the Lord, serving in various ways.
Survivors include his wife; his father; six daughters, Jerrina Hemphill of Hackensack, New Jersey, Jerrie Thomas of Tempe, Sharea Davis of Tucson, Geraldine Davis of Ahwatukee, Jalessa Thomas and Licha K. Love of San Diego; three sons, Jerodrick Thomas of Plainview, Willie Davis of Kingman and Jerry Davis of Casa Grande; two sisters, Peggy Willis of Arizona City and Carolyn Jointer of Tempe; three brothers, Charles and Douglas Thomas Jr. of Amarillo, Texas, and Don Thomas of Phoenix; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother; two brothers, William and James Thomas; and a sister, Katie Brown.
Visitation beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, with service at noon.
