ELOY - Jesse H. Guanajuato, 77, of Eloy died on April 4, 2015, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 by the Rev. Alonzo Garcia. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Guanajuato was born on July 3, 1937, in Gregory, Texas. He was a hardworking man and was a school custodian in Eloy for 27 years. He ran Los Charros Bar for 10 years and was known as "El Charrito." He loved gardening, going to swap meets and eating, especially menudo and tamales.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Alicia; two sons, Gilberto V. and Hector Mercedes V. Guanajuato of Casa Grande; a daughter, Gloria Ponce of Casa Grande; four brothers, Juan and Ramiro Guanajuato of Eloy, Ricky and Tino Guanajuato of Casa Grande; two sisters, Esperanza Salazar and Olivia Mendivil of Eloy; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel V. Guanajuato, and a sister, Josie Diaz.
