**In Loving Memory of Jesus A. “Chito” Rodriguez**
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jesus A. “Chito” Rodriguez, who left this world on November 21, 2024, at the age of 90. Chito was born on January 26, 1934, to Maria and Amado Rodriguez. His spirit touched many lives, and his legacy will live on in the hearts those he cherished.
Chito was a remarkable individual who found great joy in sports, whether as a referee, umpire, or in playing tennis, baseball, and basketball. He loved gathering around the television to watch games, celebrating every moment with passion. His enthusiasm extended beyond the field; he was deeply involved in his community, helping to build St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy. In recognition of his achievements, he was proudly inducted into the Hall of Fame at Santa Cruz Valley Union High School in 2016 and received the accolade of Athlete of the Year during his senior year.
His career as a maintenance supervisor for the Eloy Elementary School District reflected his commitment to nurturing the next generation. A dedicated serviceman, Chito also proudly served in the Navy, embodying the values of duty and honor.
Chito was not only a loving husband but also a devoted uncle and a treasured friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mercy Rodriguez, and his foster children: Enrique Martinez Guillen, Sylvia Guillen Lujan, Ricardo Martinez Guillen, Sonya Guillen Ontiveros, and Mercedes Martinez Guillen. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Maria Monterde, father, Amado Rodriguez, five brothers, two sisters, and his foster son, Frank “Pancho” Guillen.
