CASA GRANDE - Joan Foster Koenig, 88, of Casa Grande died peacefully in her home on Feb. 16, 2018.
Ms. Foster Koenig was born on Feb. 15, 1930, in Harrisburg, Illinois, to William and Adria May Creigmile Foster. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University and a Master of Arts from Arizona State University. She began her career as a stewardess for American Airlines and a market research investigator for Proctor & Gamble Co. She became co-owner, vice president and secretary of Koenig Aviation Inc. Later in her career, she became a real estate agent and eventually a broker.
She moved to Casa Grande in 1952 and remained until her death. She traveled extensively and made trips to Europe, Mexico, Israel, Yugoslavia, Turkey and Tahiti. She was very active in her community with clubs and organizations, including the Democratic Women of Arizona, American Association of University Women and Desert Women’s Club. She loved living on the ranch on West Val Vista Road and lived there for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing bridge with her family and friends. She had a deep faith and believed in Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Survivors include two sons, William Koenig of McLean, Virginia, and Theodore Koenig of Jefferson City, Missouri, as well as five nieces and nephews and their families.
A private graveside service was held on Feb. 24 at Greendale Cemetery in Osgood, Indiana, her mother's home, with Pastor Tommy Beatley of the United Methodist Church officiating.
