Joann Carlyle Hulse

AK-CHIN - JoAnn Carlyle Hulse, 74, died on Dec. 28, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones.

A proud citizen of the Ak-Chin Indian Community, Ms. Hulse was born to Hiram J. and Tillie Romo Carlyle on Aug. 26, 1945.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Arizona State University in 1974 and went on to teach generations of elementary students over 29 years in the Maricopa Unified School District. She loved teaching and she loved her students.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard D. and Wilbert "Buddy" Carlyle, and a grandson, Stephen E. Coester Jr. She is survived by a sister, Leona M. Carlyle Kakar; two daughters, Nicole Carlyle-Coester and Leslie Carlyle-Burnett; and two grandsons.
