Joe Puffer of Hickiwan passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024, at the age of 76, in Glendale. He was born on December 7, 1947, in Ajo to Angelina Jim-Puffer and Alonzo A. Puffer.
Throughout his life, Joe found joy in various pursuits. He had a particular fondness for watching old Western movies, cheering on wrestlers, and experiencing the thrill of bull riding. His sense of humor endeared him to others, as he was known to be a jokester. However, it was his love for the great outdoors and spending quality time with family that truly brought him fulfillment.
Joe is survived by his children: Jesse Puffer of Glendale, Crystal Morones of Scottsdale, Sylvia Amavisca of Casa Grande, and Josie Puffer of Hickiwan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: William Puffer, Lawrence Puffer, Mary Antone, George Puffer and Daisy Puffer. Joe is the last of his siblings.
An all-night wake will be held on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, at Full Gospel Fellowship Church from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. A final tribute will take place on Friday at 9:00 a.m., February 16th, 2024, with burial immediately following at Ajo Cemetery.
