Joe Vasquez, 56, of Casa Grande died on May 14, 2011, at Oasis Pavilion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, with his wife by his side.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 6:30. Funeral Mass will celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Kevin Clinch. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Vasquez was born on Nov. 26, 1954, in Casa Grande. He was a military veteran and was a railroad machine operator, working at Union Pacific for 32 years. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He was a big Dallas Cowboys fan and loved to cook outdoors and help out with a bowling league. He coached Little League for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Rebecca, his sweetheart since sixth grade; two sons, Joe Vasquez Jr. and Andrew Vasquez of Casa Grande; two daughters, Rachel Paredes and Sarah Vasquez of Casa Grande; three brothers, Art, Frank and Henry Vasquez, all of Casa Grande; his mother, Aurelia Vasquez of Casa Grande; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Aristeo Vasquez, and a sister.
