Joe Wallace, 82, of Casa Grande died on Sept. 24, 2012, at home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral there will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, with Pastor David Watson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Wallace was born on Feb. 1, 1930, in Pauls Valley, Okla., and was a son of Elmer and Annie Wallace. He worked in maintenance at Casa Grande Oil Mill. He enjoyed yard work and gardening and also John Wayne movies. He was a story teller, especially around a campfire, and had a passion for collecting trains. He enjoyed being with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and talking about the Lord and old times.
Survivors include his wife, Alline L.; two sons, Earl and Wayne Wallace of Casa Grande; a brother, David Wallace of Idaho; three sisters, Jewel West of Idaho, Patsy Stephens and ImaJean Pitman of Casa Grande; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
