Joel Hobbs

Joel Frederick Hobbs, 69, of Casa Grande died on Oct. 21, 2012, at Oasis Pavilion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
A private service was planned.
Mr. Hobbs was born on June 24, 1943, in Rose Hill, Va., and was a son of Ernest T. and Anna A. Hobbs. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a sergeant. He was an electrical engineer and worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1995. He then worked for Rapid Design Industries in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, as a manager for eight years. He also was a construction site manager for Epstein & Sons in Chicago, building manufacturing facilities.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sigrid R.; two sons, J.D. Hobbs of Indiana and Calvin Hobbs of California; two sisters, Lea Gallagher of Pennsylvania and Ruby Boatwright of Georgia; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
