SACATON - Joella Theresa Scott, 73, of Sacaton died peacefully on July 8, 2016.
Ms. Scott was born on Dec. 13, 1942, in Sacaton to Nelson and Phillipa Antone. She was loving, caring and had a strong mind and a blessed heart. She loved to smile and laugh. She loved spending time with her family and sometimes enjoyed driving to town on Sundays just to listen to oldies.
Survivors include eight sons and daughters, Anthony Amavisca Jr. of Laveen, Johnny Amavisca of Sacaton, Cheryl Olivas of Kearny, Cecilia Amavisca of Komatke, Julian Amavisca of Casa Grande, Mary C. and Patrice Thomas of Sacaton and Vincent Thomas of Maricopa; nine brothers and sisters, Judy Antone, Sharolette Martinez, Floyd, Rodney and Willard Antone Sr., Maxine Francisco, Marsha Pedro, Tonya Molina and Aldon Antone, all of Arizona; 23 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, Dean, Rose and Mary Antone, Henrietta Evans, Anthony Antone, Thelma Terry, Spencer and Baron Antone Sr., and three grandsons, Jason, Daniel and Anthony Amavisca.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the District 3 Service Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Bapchule by the Rev. Chris Fraser. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
